Always nice when a new antho with one of my stories in it launches - but it's even better when that tale is surrounded by a deeply cool alt-history universe the it's impossible not to be intrigued by.  Such is the case with the newly released Tokyo Yakuza anthology, which you can see here.

My story Flytrap placed second in SF Reader's annual short story contest, which is truly cool.  I would have loved to win the top prize, of course, but with such a high-profile site and big entry, I am truly delighted to have been one of the winners.  You can read the story here, and if you like airships in a non-steampunk setting, I recommend it ( Read more... )

As always, it's nice to have a review go up online, but I still think the nicest thing about it is that someone read your work... that's why we write, after all, isn't it?

Yesterday's post over at Classically Educated hits close to the heart, as it deals with our beloved science fiction genre.  It does so in a way that is a bit unusual, comparing the output of the Soviet Union with that of the western world, and taking conclusions from it.  I may be biased, but I think it's worth it for the cover art alone ( Read more... )

My story "Death on the Inside has been accepted by the Tokyo Yakuza antho, and they sent me cover art for it.  Looks quite tempting, doesn't it?
